The place to follow what matters in policy - for free

Legislata is the first platform designed for those working in public policy - journalists, government affairs, advocates, activists, and elected officials - that matches the reality of their work.

You need to track publicly available information, like what happened at a committee hearing, a press release from an elected official, or a bill moving, but what you need to know is in hour four of a video or scattered around different websites. And you don’t have the time or the budget to get it done easily.

Legislata brings this information together, into one platform, makes it searchable and keyword-alertable. And everything in the public record is free, supported by our underwriting partners (learn more about that opportunity).

You can also create your own feed on Legislata to share (and monetize) your insights about policy with the audience you want to reach. More creator tools are planned for later in 2026.

How to get started

Legislata is designed like a social media or newsletter site. Rather than a single (often expensive) subscription, you can sign up for separate information feeds, like bill tracking in a state, AI-generated transcripts from a city council, or the text of official reports.

Everything that is in the public record and managed by Legislata (ie, transcripts of public meetings, bill tracking, etc) is completely free and shareable. It is supported by our underwriting partners as a public good. We believe that democracy functions best when everyone has access to the basic building blocks of the policy process.

We allow users to create an share their own feeds, that can be connected to databases of legislation and legislators for easier reach of their own insights. Creator tools to help monetize those feeds are in the works.

Simply sign up to get started, or read some of our government transcripts without needing to sign in here.
